Just last night Lance Armstrong announced he was not going to continue to fight the USADA on the doping charges they are leveling against him. The announcement was well received on Facebook and Twitter with many of his supports rallying behind him.
This is somewhat surprising considering the charges basically make him out to be a cheat within the sport, but it’s the sign of how good engagement with your fans can help you and your companies through troubled times. In fact I’d say it’s the best case study yet on why businesses should engage with their supporters.
