8 Tips To Conquer Facebook

The hype surrounding Facebook doesn’t seem to be calming down anytime soon, and that’s why you need to learn how to use it and how to succeed. I’ve been spending the last 10 weeks learning everything I could about Facebook and now I’ve compiled my top 8 tips to conquering this platform.

1-    Actually have a Facebook account!

Now I know this seems like common knowledge, but you cannot conquer Facebook unless you are using Facebook.

2-    Have an original cover image

A lot of businesses forget how important their cover image is. Your Facebook cover image should be a call to action. Take Coca Cola for example. Their coverage image not only humanizes the brand, but also portrays Coke as a drink that can be enjoyed all over the world.

3-    Create a community

Facebook is all about the ‘communities’ that evolve. Use your facebook page as a way to create your own virtual community. Fans will communicate directly with you, share your content and most importantly they will be promoting you every time they like or comment on your content.

4-    Update your content daily

This is so important. The content you upload has the potential to reach thousands of people. Make sure that you are posting at least once a day. Remember Pictures tend to get more action than other posts, so create original relevant pictures for your page.

5-    Link your website and your facebook page

Notice how so many web pages have those cute little icons. This is not a coincidence. You need to link your website to your facebook page and vice versa. Facebook has been known to drive traffic and sales, so this is something you’re going to want to do.

6-    Customize your facebook apps.

If you’re sitting there scratching your head, Apps are those square clickable icons that sit just underneath your cover image. Facebook has a whole ‘store’ full of apps that you can have showing on your main page. This is important because you can include a welcome page or even links to other social media pages.

7-    Engage your fans

Who would’ve thought fan engagement was so important to Facebook marketing. Don’t sit back and wait for fans to engage with you. Take the initiative and post status’s then ask for a reply. E.g. Who’s excited for the release of our latest product…

8-    Keep your profile information current

Again another no brainer, but so many businesses have outdated or no information about themselves on their profile. Include a suburb, a phone number an email address and most importantly talk about your company. Not everyone will know who you are.
